Life is full of twists and turns. There can not be anything certain in life. You can try and plan your life but unexpected things happen and then you find yourself in trouble. So the Insurance policies are a safeguard against the uncertainties of life. Insurance is system by which the losses suffered by a few are spread over many, exposed to similar risks. Insurance is a protection against financial loss arising on the happening of an unexpected event.
Insurance is actually a contract between the insurance company, and the person seeking the insurance cover. Within this contract, the insurer agrees to pay the insurer for financial losses arising out of any unforeseen events or risk in return for a regular payment of premium. Thus, these insurance plans are also called as a Risk Cover Plans, which means to financially compensate for losses that occur uncertainly through accident, illness, theft, natural disaster.
Insurance is also a very good option for investment. Remember that first and foremost, insurance is about risk cover and protection. By buying life insurance, you are actually buying peace of mind. But at the same time Insurance also serves as an excellent tax saving mechanism. The Government of India has offered tax incentives to life insurance products in order to facilitate the flow of funds into productive assets. Insurance policies cover the risk of life as well as other assets and valuables, such as, home, automobiles, jewelry et al. On the basis of the risk they cover, insurance policies can be classified into two categories: Life Insurance and General Insurance. As the term suggests, Life Insurance covers the risk involved in a person's life, while General Insurance provides financial protection against unforeseen events, like accident, flood, earthquake, disease, etc.

Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine native to India and a form of alternative medicine. The earliest literature on Indian medical practice appeared during the Vedic period in India. The Susruta Sanhita and the Charaka Sanhita were influential works on traditional medicine during this era. Over the following centuries, ayurvedic practitioners developed a number of medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for the treatment of various ailments. Western medicine has ayurveda classified as a system of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) that is used to complement, rather than replace, the treatment regimen and relationship that exists between a patient and their existing physician.
Ayurveda is grounded in the physics of the "five elements" i.e. Prithvi (earth), Jala (water), Agni (fire), Vaayu (air) and Akasha (ether). All of which compose the Universe, including the human body. Chyle or plasma (called rasa dhatu), blood (rakta dhatu), flesh (mamsa dhatu), fat (medha dhatu), bone (asthi dhatu), marrow (majja dhatu), and semen or female reproductive tissue (shukra dhatu) are held to be the seven primary constituent elements i.e saptadhatu of the body. Ayurveda deals elaborately with measures of healthful living during the entire span of life and its various phases. Ayurveda stresses a balance of three elemental energies which are vata (air & space – "wind"), pittha (fire & water – "bile") and kapha (water & earth – "phlegm"). According to Ayurveda, these three regulatory principles - Doshas are important for health, because when they are in a more balanced state, the body will function to its fullest, and when imbalanced, the body will be affected negatively in certain ways. Ayurveda holds that each human possesses a unique combination of doshas. In ayurveda, the human body perceives attributes of experiences as 20 Guna meaning qualities. Surgery and surgical instruments are employed. It is believed that building a healthy metabolic system, attaining good digestion and proper excretion leads to vitality. Ayurveda also focuses on exercise, yoga, meditation, and massage. Thus, body, mind, and spirit/consciousness need to be addressed both individually and in unison for health to ensue.
Eight disciplines of ayurveda treatment, called ashtangas are given below:
1.      Internal medicine (Kaaya-chikitsa)
2.      Paediatrics (Kaumarabhrtyam)
3.      Surgery (Shalya-chikitsa)
4.      Eye and ENT (Shalakya tantra)
5.      Demonic possession (Bhuta vidya): Bhuta vidya has been called psychiatry.
6.      Toxicology (Agadatantram)
7.      Prevention diseases and improving immunity and rejuvenation (rasayana)
8.      Aphrodisiacs and improving health of progeny (Vajikaranam)
In Hindu mythology, the origin of Ayurvedic medicine is attributed to the physician of the gods, Dhanvantari.

Iguazu Falls ..... 1

Iguazu Falls, are waterfalls of the Iguazu River located on the border of the Brazilian State of ParanĂ¡ and the Argentine Province of Misiones. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River originates near the city of Curitiba. It flows through Brazil for most of its course. Below its confluence with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu River forms the boundary between Brazil and Argentina.

The name "Iguazu" comes from the Guarani or Tupi words, meaning "big water". Legend has it that a god planned to marry a beautiful woman named Naipi, who fled with her mortal lover Taroba in a canoe. In rage the god sliced the river, creating the waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall. The first European to find the falls was the Spanish Conquistador Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca in 1541, after whom one of the falls on the Argentine side is named.

Regional Mutual Fund

Regional mutual fund is a mutual fund that confines itself to investments in securities from a specified geographical area, such as Europe or Asia. A regional mutual fund will generally look to own a diversified portfolio of companies based in and operating out of its specified geographical area. The objective is to take advantage of regional growth potential before the national investment community does. They may be some regional funds whose objective is to invest in a specific segment of the region's economy, such as banking, energy etc.
For the investor, the primary benefit of a regional fund is that he/she increases his/her diversification by being exposed to a specific foreign geographical area. For the average investor, these funds are beneficial as most investors don't have enough capital to adequately diversify themselves across many investments in the region. Regional funds select securities that pass geographical criteria. Regional funds differ from the international mutual funds in the sense that international mutual funds have a diversified portfolio with investment spanning all across the world, where as regional funds invest in companies in one specific region or nation. Regional funds carry more risk as compared to international mutual funds because their investments are less diversified geographically.

Movie Review: "DUM MARO DUM"

Movie Review “Dum Maro Dum” (2011)

Genre: Crime, Mystery, Thriller
Director: Rohan Sippy
Language: Hindi
Story: Shridhar Raghavan
Star Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Prateik Babbar, Aaditya Pancholi, Rana Daggubati, Mariah Gomes, Govind Namdeo, Deepika Padukone, Anaitha Nair, Vidya Balan
Music: Pritam
Dum Maro Dum is a movie set in Goa. In the movie Goa became capital of drugs in India because of greedy politicians and businessmen. So CM of Goa appoints ACP Vishnu Kamath played by Abhishek Bachchan to hunt down all the drug mafia. Lorsa Biscuita aka Biscuit played by Aditya Pancholi is the main drug dealer in that area. Biscuita uses needy youngsters for drug trafficking. One of such innocent boys is Lorry played by Prateik Babbar who wants to follow his girlfriend to US for higher education. But Police trap him and charge him for drug trafficking. His well wisher Joki played by Rana Daggubati tries his best to get him out of it. ACP Kamath has to find Michael Barbusa, an invisible man who runs this racket through Biscuit. How Kamath does complete his job with the help of Joki and Lorry forms the rest of the story.
Dum Maro Dum is good thriller. Definitely it is not unwatchable. Very well narrated and directed story and well enacted too by most of the actors. Music by Pritam enhanced the movie experience. It has the oomph we associate with Goa. Abhishek Bachchan yet again managed to amaze me with his singing ability. Deepika Padukone in item number was hot.
Aditya Pancholi as a villain did good job. But it left me wanting for little more. I strongly feel Bollywood today missing yesteryears villains like Pran, Amjad Khan or Amrish Puri. Bipasha was almost wasted in the movie. Her role is almost forgettable. Climax of the movie was also little disappointing. Other than that Rohan Sippy did commendable job.
If I have to rate this movie I will give 7 out of 10.
