“Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” Marathi is back with its new season on Monday 30th March 2009. As we all know “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” Marathi is most popular and loved TV serial or reality show on Zee Marathi or rather any Marathi TV channel. I think after completing the 5 successful seasons, in which last season “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Little Champs” crossed all boundaries of success, magic of last season on people’s mind is still there. And Zee Marathi comes up with new season which has very new and interesting theme.
This season is called as “Maharashtracha Aajacha Aawaj”. It is a season in which 10 professional singers in Marathi industries are going to compete with each other. Some of them are very well known already, some of them working in the industry for long but not a regular household name as they had been working ‘parade ke pichhe’. Now it is their chance to establish their name and let people all over the world hear their voice from this most coveted platform.
It is brilliant thinking by the Zee Marathi to ask established singers to participate in this season, as in there is going to be big hang over of last season “Little Champs” hangover on public’s mind. If there were any ordinary wannabe singers participating then people would have compared them with “Little champs”. And it won’t have been easy for them to match the standards set by the “Little Champs”. Only professional singers could have done justice to this platform and people’s expectation now.
At the end of “Little Champs” when Pallavi Joshi declared that next season professional singers are going to compete, I was very curious to know the names of the participants. I wanted to know if Zee Marathi can make any big singer to participate. Now when I see the list of participants, I don’t see any big singer but they are all known singers. The List of the Participant is as follows,

Out of these biggest names are Ajit Parab and Sanjivani Bhelande or we should say more popular names as compared to others. Ajit Parab is a Music Composer also. He is a singer of one of my favorite songs from Amitabh Bachchan’s movie “Viruddh”. He also sung and composed songs in one of the most awaited coming up Marathi movie “Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Bolatoy”. So I am very much looking forward to his performance. Sanjivani Bhelande is also renowned singer; she was actually a winner of Hindi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Championship 1995.
Then more than participant’s name, I was curious to know who are going to judge these people. It could not have been Avadhoot Gupte and Vaishali Samant are they are also more of contemporary singers. Even Devaki Pandit won’t have been right choice although she is very much senior to all of the participants. The judges had to be veterans in music industry. And that’s absolutely what Zee Marathi managed by rope in Suresh Wadkar, And Pandit Hrudaynath Mangeshkar in Judges Seats.
So let us hope that this season will also be as good as past ones if not better. And let us wish all the very best to all the participants.
“Dance India Dance” is new show on the Indian television. A new reality show in the host of many so called reality shows. Reality shows which are nowhere near reality only made up stuff. But the “Dance India Dance” promised to be different. And after watching it for first two weeks, I think this show is going to be one of the biggest hit on the Indian television. It is a high time that we come out of the crazy singing reality shows, which failed to keep up the quality. These singing reality shows has everything but good quality singers. And it is true for Indian Idol 4, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and star voice of India of this year. And it is really disturbing and frustrating to see these judges praising contestants even after bad performances. As if public don’t understand music at all. I think they should not start any more singing competition unless they real good singers.
For many years Indian television gave good platform to singers but other art forms remain neglected. But “Dance India Dance” will give proper platform, good recognition, good money, name and glamour whoever wants to make career in dance whoever has skills for it. It wasn’t like there were no other dance competition shows before this. There was “Boogy Boogy” which was good learning experience for any dancers. But it was never as big as Dance India Dance could be.
But rest assured that this show gets some real talent in dance which we never seen on the television at least. We Indians know dances done by filmstars in movies and now TV celebrities do some mediocre dancing on TV shows. But we don’t have real dancing stars in India although we have volume of talent. If we talk about dancing stars that we have today other than Hrithik Roshan, Prabhu Deva, Javed Jaffary that’s it and Govinda may be few years back. At least I know only these names, there must be more but they could not come in limelight as dance was not considered serious business before this. But I am sure “Dance India Dance” will change the scene for dancers. This show will surely come out with many dancing stars and many more entertainers.
The show has Mithun Chakrovarthy as Grand Master of the show. Mithun who also well known as Disco dancer of India. He was brilliant dancer himself. Then there are masters who did great so far in dance in their own ways. First few shows had some brilliant talents on display. It felt great and very much proud watching this, the bundle of talent oozing out of young India in every department. Let it be sports, music, singing, dancing or anything else. India is surely rising irrespective recession or anything else.
Let us see what this show has in stores for us, I hope it will be high entertaining real talent on display as it promised rather than high on melodrama like the way chosen by other reality shows.
KARTIKI GAIKWAD is declared as a winner of “Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs – Zee Marathi.” After six months of high quality entertainment show came to an end yesterday. I am little disappointed and shocked with the result as I wasn’t expecting Kartiki Gaikwad to win the show. Actually I thought she will be last option to be a winner but having said that I don’t mean she is least deserving candidate. She deserve to be a winner, she had it in her from the start. She has talent, she has outwardness required for any performer. She has no inhibitions while performing. She is more mature for her age. And she came for rural area so she will be good medium for Zee Marathi and sponsors of the show to reach the people in rural areas and expand their consumers. She will be good ambassador for her father’s music and folk songs of Maharshtra like Bhajans, Bharud, Lavani etc. which were getting lost in filmy music. So she will be good ambassador for Marathi people from rural areas. She will be new hope for them. So it is win – win situation for all.
Kartiki is surely on a right way, going for successful career. I just hope she does not lose her focus from singing and always remembers that she is a singer first. I think she will also get wild card entry in Hindi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little champs. And she also should win that competition hands down like Vaishali Made another winner from the platform of Marathi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
As for other finalist everyone thinks they all are winners and they have glorious future ahead for themselves. I think Arya, Rohit and Prathmesh were expecting to be a winner but credit to them that they did not show any disappointment on the stage. These kids are quick learners. As for Mugdha I don’t think she or her parents was expecting a win. But she is a darling of Maharashtra already and will be remembered already.
You know what the show was organized on the ground right next to my house but I wasn’t having passes, I had to seat at home and watch it on TV. But we can here the fireworks when winner was announced. I was little disappointed with the Grand finale show, it was as entertaining as it should be or it could be. I would have really liked it if last 10 finalists had performed also. But it was nice to hear from Shriniwas Khale one of the greatest. This is one best thing about Zee Marathi that they bring these Greats.
I am happier that Zee TV will be coming out with a VCD of the show but I wish they just don’t accumulate songs of these five kids but all the best songs performed in last six months by everyone. Then they are doing one music album with the five finalists. So I am eagerly waiting for that, let us see how they do when they have to sing their own new song. Zee Marathi also declared new concept for next Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. This time the competition is among the professional singers. So it will be exciting show. I am more than curious to see which singers are participating and who will be judging them.
The most loved and appreciated Television Show at least for Marathi is coming to an end. After six amazing months of heavenly music performed by little angels sent by the God, it is going to end this coming Sunday. On this coming Sunday of 8 Feb 2009 there will be Grand Finale of “Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Little champs” a show on a Zee Marathi which used to occupies our hour or two on every Monday and Tuesday. And after this Sunday we are going to miss this show and these kids big time. Although the show won’t be there anymore it will last in our memory for lifetime. On this occasion I will again like to request Zee Marathi to release the DVD of the show as soon as possible. If the DVD never comes what we can do is record the show when there will be re-telecast for the best moments of the show.
Although I am little sad that show is ending, I am super excited too for the Grand Finale and Grand performances of these Little Champs. Then I am sure other participants of the show will also perform, so it will be bonus to watch them perform again. I am not going to miss the show for anything. Mugdha Vainshmpayan: She is fantastic and God gifted singer. At her age whatever she is doing is simply miraculous. She has such good accent which is really hard to find any grown up Marathi speaking people. She is the youngest of all the contestants and certainly the most innocent of them. This innocence of her makes her favorite among older generation. She is expected to get lots of vote. My calculations tell me that she will be rank in top two according to the public vote. It must be the reason; Zee Marathi introduced the system five juries in the end. As they afraid that Mugdha will walk away with the crown because of her popularity. She is great singer but it will be big burden for her if she wins at this age. Imagine she has to attend so many functions, awards, Interviews after that. It will be just too much for her. She already look little tired of all this. Chances of her winning are little as of now unless she again comes up with miraculous performance on the day. My favorite song sung by her was “Are Are Diwatya”. It sounds amazing and divine from her mouth.
Kartiki Gaikwad: A fantastic singer, one who always perform new songs or rather songs which are not that popular but when she sings them, it became favorite for many and they go on to look for that song. She has style of her own; she sings every song in her own way. Her rustic, raw voice touches many hearts. She is going to be a big name in music industry if she does not lose focus in future. Many thinks she has been promoted by Zee Marathi more than others, I also feel so but we can’t deny that the girl has immense talent. She had given many unforgettable performances on this platform. She will be one of the favorites for the juries also. Although she is about same age of Mugdha, contrary to her she is ready to be winner and enter in the glamorous world. But I think she is also the one among all five who can lose her head and focus because of this glamour. My favorite song sung by her was “Reshamachya Reghani”
Rohit Raut: He is an ultimate performer; whenever he is on stage he captures the stage. He is most confident kid I ever seen. He has not got enough appreciation for his performance compare to other finalists which he surely deserves. He is the one who rather than going by safer route by performing classic melodious songs choose to sing latest songs. Which I think wasn’t done by anyone in the all of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi Shows. He might not come out as a winner on Sunday; if he does it will be a big shock for me. But in coming future he is going to be a Superstar of not only Maharshtra but whole India. He should not lose focus. He lost his Sur many times while trying to perform extraordinarily if he can keep tab on that no one can stop him. My favorite song sung by him was “Zabardast”, it was really Zabardast. I was never fond of that song before I heard it from him; he made me liking that song.
Arya Aambekar: She is the most versatile of the all finalist only Shamika Bhide in overall competition was as versatile as her. She is my personal favorite. I think she will be ideal winner of the show as she can sing good melodies, she can sing Natyasangit, she van sing very well in Hindi too. I think as per the jury she will rank in top two. And she has big chances of win unless she goofs up big time. She has good personality to represent as a winner. Even if she does not win this show she will surely be a playback singer in next two three years. I think she might get offers immediately after the show. But she has the strongest competition from Prathmesh. Technically she is not as good as him but she is a complete package rather than being good at any one area. Best song of her I think was “Pan Khaye Sainya Hamro”. I wish she wins.
Prathmesh Laghate: He is strongest the contender for the title if we consider technical aspect. He has given some unbelievable performances on the show. He is the one who raise the bar of quality of the show to the top notch. He won best performers award maximum time on the show. If the winner has to be selected only on the opinions of juries he will be ultimate winner without any doubts unless he goofs on the final day really badly. Although everyone thinks he is not versatile enough and sings only Shastriya and Naty Sangit very well. He had also performed well with songs like “Galavar Khali” and “Mi hai koli”. Only thing with him is that he enjoys and prefers the Natysangit and Shastriya Sangit more. Choosing best song sung by him is difficult “Aatach amrutachi” , “Hridaychya Talavar”, “Pahile na mi Tula”and all the songs actually.
Anyway whoever wins one thing is sure all of them are really special. I wish all of them can be declare as winner. And we are going to miss them; they were part of our life for last six months. For those who are going to miss them badly can wait for DVD to be released or as I said they can record the show when they will re-telecast the best of little champs.
